the relationship i have right now is important to me

i think i used to be more lost. i desperately craved a relationship for some kind of validation. i wanted a boyfriend to prove i liked boys, then i wanted a girlfriend to prove i liked girls. i wanted someone to take care of

my understanding of a relationship used to be like, let’s fill up each other’s holes, ooze into each other and eliminate all weakness. which actually made for weak codependent relationships with no real understanding

and now i see a relationship like two pieces of coral meeting, after tentatively growing in the sand: now we can build on each other, and build and build, and new things can branch off. we don’t have to fill the holes because the holes are part of what makes us structurally sound

and things live in our holes :) and make us vibrant
